The Ravenna parks are spacious and well-equipped, especially for the amusement of children. The Public Gardens is located the Astronomical Observatory, the Theodoric Park immerses in the green mausoleum of the great Ostrogothic king, the Garden Rasponi brings us to the rediscovery of forgotten herbs, and in the Rocca Brancaleone Park grow various species of trees.
Along its 35 kilometers of coastline, the city’s beaches offer a wide variety of holidays and vacations: wide, white sand and fine and well equipped, extend harmony between the sea, pine forests and lagoons. A few kilometers from the coast there is the biological protection area called Paguro platform, which is one of great scientific interest ecological niche, a place where many species find protection and a unique opportunity for divers.
Inland, however, inside the renovated Palazzone of Sant’Alberto it is headquartered NatuRA, the Ravenna Museum of Natural Science Alfredo Brandolini. The museum is full of historical collections of local fauna plus dedicated educational sections, among other things, the history of the Ravenna pine forests.
